Testing a reinforced concrete slab subjected to long-term loading/unloading

Jure Radnić, Domagoj Matešan

Abstract

Results obtained by testing a square-shaped reinforced-concrete slab, subjected to the short and longterm loading and unloading activity are presented. The slab is reinforced by welded wire mesh at its top and bottom parts, with different reinforcement area in both directions, and is supported in corners only. The slab was subjected to constant and high-intensity load during one year. The load was then released. Deflections and deformations to concrete and reinforcement were measured at selected points on the slab during one year and six months following the initial application of load.
